Move to in-house organic agriculture for a healthy and hunger free world – Arunachala Sarvajnapeetham
March 30, 2020

It is high time for the world to become aware of the fast food culture and ‘food like products’ that we are consuming ( toxic and non organic) every day and the effect it has on our body and mind.

In order to create a nutritious and hunger free world, we need to make a conscious move to better agricultural practices, eating habits and food distribution system. In an effort towards achieving this,  growing our own food, maintaining vertical kitchen gardens and home grown agricultural products, are a great start.

28 March 2020 – With the blessings of His Divine Holiness Nithyananda Paramashivam, as part of ShriKailasa Uniting Nations for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture, ShriKailasavasis and devotees residing in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, India engaged in the fulfilling effort of growing an organic vegetable garden at Arunachala Sarvajnapeetham, Tiruvannamalai to extend the services to humanity and feed the hungry amidst the economy instability due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Today, as a start, Fenugreek seeds were sown. Pure organic manure – cow dung from the in-house Gau Mandir having 9 Kangeyam breed Desi cows – was mixed with the soil offering a pure and healthy nourishing atmosphere for the Greens.

Being a well-known landmark for daily annadhan(gifting of sattvic food), this move to in-house agriculture will directly lead to guaranteed healthy sattvic food distribution as annadhan without any dependance from outside sources. Arunachala Sarvajnapeetham is always open and extends a serving hand to all those in need.
